Buick Verano with 2,0 L turbo charged engine

Buick Verano owners will get used to it. Following the trend in Europe, the Buick Verano will get a 2,0 liter turbo charged engine. Not really something one expect in a Buick. The 2,0 liter engine delivers 250 hp at 5300 rpm. Torque is 353 Nm of torque at 2000 rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission or a six-speed manual gearbox.



Acceleration from 0-100 km/hr is done in 6,2 seconds. Not really a softy, so to say. More than 90 percent of the peak torque is available between 1700 to 5500 rpm. Buick is making efforts to downsize their engines for the new models without sacrificing the performance. Besides the Verano, the Buick LaCrosse and Regal have standard a four-cylinder engine combined with e-assist, an electric motor which get its power form a battery to lower fuel consumption. According to automobile sources, it is expected that the use of four-cylinder engines in vehicles in North America will grow 74 percent in the coming 10 years. The Buick Verano with 2,.0 liter engine will go on sale later this year.
