I bought my Verano about 2 months ago and have 5,000 miles on it. My job takes me out of state and I commute home on the weekends. My gas mileage for the 5K is 28.7 and that is interstate driving at 75MPH. I bought the car for the gas mileage, the way it drove, the looks and the luxury of the inside. I was commuting in an Infinity QX56 that gets 16 MPG; so you can see why I wanted the gas mileage. Before buying, I looked at and drove every make and model of the compacts. My wife and I have had 4 Mercedes and she now drives an E350 which gets about the same gas mileage as the Verano. I came close to buying another Mercedes until I came across the Verano. At first I hated the Verano and even called the dealer asking him to take it back, at which he just laughed at me. I am staring to get used to the car but have noticed a few issues; some which have been mentioned in this forum. The heated seat just comes on, even though it is 80 outside. This only happens most afternoons when I leave the job site heading back to the hotel. When I start the car with the AC on, it will blow hot air for about 2 minutes, then the AC will kick in. I keep the system on 72 and it will not operate. I have to manually turn the fan up to get it working as the fan stay on low at all times after the 2 minutes of blowing hot air. I have also had the condensation problem on the windshield. Driving down the rode the other day, I noticed my trunk open. I cannot get the driver’s comfortable. I have tried everything and after a six hour drive, my back and legs are ready for a rest. I bought this Verano with everything you can get on it. After I bought it, I found out that when you get the navigation system, you lose the Buick Intellilink. So, all the goodies they advertise, you do not have. I paid $900 extra for the navigation, but they should have had a deduction. At this point, I am trying to decide to sell it and keep driving my QX or sell the QX. That is my Verano story, so far.

    iowajean,

I'm sorry to hear you have had this problem. Have you taken your Verano into your local Buick dealership to have your car diagnosed?

I have a Verano with 1000 miles that makes a intermittent moaning sound at slow speeds. It is not related to braking or turning. I asked at the dealer and was told if there isn't a check engine light on and it will not consistently make the sound, there's nothing they can do about it. Has anyone else had this problem and/or has a suggestion as to the source?

Can you record the sound? Maybe with a cell phone?

Where does the sound seem to be coming from? If it's a suspension/drivetrain issue there shouldn't be any dash indicators for it, hopefully it's not that!

I bought my Verano in August and it had a tear in the seat and it took them 3 times to get the right piece. Problem #2 my telematics module went out and it took a week to fix that. Now the sunroof is leaking. I truly regret buying this vehicle. The sad thing is I only traded because the dealer sent me a letter saying they were interested in purchasing Saturn's, I had an Outlook. Huge mistake!!! Oh and I live 50 miles one way from my dealer, at least it does get good gas mileage since I make at least one trip a month up there.

Sorry to hear about your problems with the Verano, thats quite a lot to experience with a brand new car.
You should contact Buick's customer service and let them know, I think after having so many issues they should buy back the vehicle or at least give you another brand new Verano if you want to stay with Verano's.

    tncfan,

I'm sorry you're having multiple issues. Could you send me your information (name, number, address, VIN, current mileage, and involved dealer) so I can check into your situation?

What do you think can be done about this. Would it justify the owner getting another new Verano in exchange for his new one?

Every car i had so far does the same thing in very humid conditions...reason for it is that the air coming out of your vents is cold enough to cool down the windshield to cause condensation on outside of it. The only way to remove condensation on the outside of the windshield is to run your wipers. To stop condensation from happening you need to increase the temperature of the air blowing onto your windshield (by turning up the temperature control while running AC. That would give you enough comfort (by still giving you a dry air inside, even it is a bit wormer) and not being cold enough to cause condensation on the outside windshield.
