Smile I pick mine up tomorrow!

White Diamond Tricoat exterior and Coccachino interior. Leather, Audio System with Nav, Sunroof, and (WQN) 18" Wheels.

I'm pretty excited. I am coming from a 2011 Infiniti G37x AWD Sedan. I was sick of the stupid 7AT, having to drive 50 minutes for service (I was under Lease to the dealership), the road noise, and the unresponsive steering.

While I won't be accelerating as fast, the rest of the features are comparable if not better. My drive for dealer-service is only 5 minutes now. Also, my total financed amount actually dropped $7k.

    No complaints yet!

    Welcome!

you Sir made the right choice, White Diamond Tricoat is an amazing color, can't wait to see what that looks like in person.

here's a visual to help other members looking here

Never been in an Infiniti G37 but I didn't expect them to be that bad, though road noise was one of the things Infiniti would put as a priority, i guess not!!

    Nice username! Haha.

I think the road noise for my G was due in part to the tire upgrade, sport package, and maybe AWD. That coupled with just the way the car is, meant I tramlined all over the road during my highway commute. It was less than pleasant.

About the 7AT. That thing was in 4th nearly 5th by 35mph, so in stop & go all you felt were gear-shifts. It also had a magic 23mph point where under certain conditions, the car would do nothing when you hit the gas for about 1 whole second. And it seemed to happen at the worst moments. I was told on three separate occasions, "there's nothing wrong, that's just how the 7AT is". 50+ page threads on forums can back me up on that story. Unfortunate.

Having owned a 2008 G35x, I can say that the 5-speed transmission was leagues better and more responsive. Heck, I'll take a CVT over the 7AT.

I think this new Verano will blend being a nice commuter vehicle and having some class-leading luxury features. And that's all I'm really looking for. Plus, I'm saving money so no complaints there.

I'll try and post pictures as soon as it stops raining

Sorry I haven't checked back, I still haven't received the car.

I'm told it is on a train passing through Illinois (I live in Oregon). So it'll be an estimated 4 more days before its on the dealer lot...

Welcome aboard. Hearing that the Verano features are comparable if not better than the Infiniti G37x sounds really good to me. Thanks for sharing that. Sort of gives someone like my self an idea of what the Verano will be like.

Have you check out any other luxury sedan's before deciding on the Verano?

I'm not a fan of BMW or Mercedes - so I did not really check those out. The only Audi's I like are the ones with $80k+ price tags. I'm not a fan of the Acura's styling (thought their soft dash is nice). Chrysler is a little big/pricey to me (then again, I wanted the CTS-V Sports Sedan), and I'm waiting for the next model of Lincoln's (namely the 2013 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid with the improved MPG).

Lexus IS is alright, but you pay an insanely significant premium for the name. I think a similarly equipped IS was going to run me about $12k more than the Buick. There's also only one Lexus dealer near me, and they have treated me terribly on both occasions I have worked with them so it really turned me off from them.

It really depends on your needs. The Infiniti G37x is just a different car, so while the available features might be similar, it certainly doesn't drive the same or meet the same needs. I would easily consider another Infiniti in the future if the 7AT quirks are worked out.

Right now, my needs were for a quiet, smooth ride in a leather seated, luxury featured small sedan for my work commute. Bonus points that it lowers my overall debt and monthly payment. Except for a back-up camera, the Buick is comparable to competitors (if not better in terms of ride/quietness) and the price is impossible to argue with.

...and delayed again. Being told sometime between the 11th and 13th now. With the 15th at the latest.

Apparently GM was having shipping delays. It's finally in my state, but will be another 2 days before they even finish processing it for the area. Then it has to be trucked over.

    *sigh*

    Arghhh!

So I got a call today that my car was finally in. This is after being told January 27th, 28th, 30th, February 4th, and finally today.

I go down to pick it up and two hours of waiting later they tell me that they messed up and can't sell it to me yet because they don't have a confirmed buy-bid on my trade. Another hour of phone calls, and still nothing.

EXCEPT, they've had my trade for a week now and I have been driving a crappy loaner. A week. They have had my trade for a week and I signed paperwork for financing already (as did they) that included a value on my trade-in.

What the ****? If it weren't for the fact that this is the only dealer in the area with this car fully loaded, I would have walked by now. But you can be sure if/when I get it, I will be filing some epic customer complaints about the people I had to work with.

Oh yeah, and the owner of the dealership is a family friend. So that should help too. I am so pissed right now.

I have no clue. Unfortunately, the person who took it in was not there last night and nobody who was knew either. The Finance Manager and the General Manager apologized profusely, and I imagine the person in charge of my trade is going to be talked to. The owner of the dealership is a family friend, so whether I get my car or not I will be letting them know what is going on.

The 7AT is dreadful, but not because of the number of gears (Chrysler has an 8AT with a 9AT on the way, and they seem to do just fine). It's because of Infiniti's torque converter implementation and shift timing setup that tries to blend commuter luxury car with sporty luxury car, and fails. It has been mentioned in numerous reviews, and indirectly hinted at by Infiniti in a public statement - yet no resolution.

By 35mph you're in 4th gear, so if you're in stop & go or mulling around the city, all you feel the entire time are shifts, hesitations, lags, and the RPM shooting all over the place because the car can't decide where to be. There are moments in stop & go traffic or accelerating out of a corner where hitting the gas will cause the car to engine brake so hard it throws you forward, then hesitates for about 1 full second, before accelerating.

However, numerous trips to the dealership and letters to Infiniti later...the answer is always, "Unfortunately, that is just how the 7AT is. If you drive it for 5-10 thousand miles, it will learn your driving habits and get better." At 13,800 miles it wasn't any better, and if anything, it was actually worse.

Don't get me wrong, I pretty much loved almost every other aspect of the car. If they fix their transmission I will happily go back.
