Hard downshift and noise

Brand new 2014 Verano - When I am accelerating and let go of the pedal and begin to coast, there seems to be a hard downshift, as if someone is driving it manually. I can feel it. And when I start the car and accelerate, after a few seconds, I hear a clank underneath the car at driver's front end. It doesn't happen again - consistently after starting from cold and going.
Any insight?
